Things are winding down quite quickly with the arrival of a warm spring after a less than average snow season. Initial resort closing dates have moved forward and all the remaining open resorts are working hard to keep the snow they have for as long as possible.
GALA just has plastic snow-mat and a sledging course open.
The Mitsumata area at Kagura has a narrow strip of snow with the rest of the slope being platic snow-mat and is mainly being used to move people up to the higher Kagura area.
Tashiro is still skiing well with most of its courses open and it is still aiming to be open for Golden Week.
If you are a beginner skier or snowboarder looking for your first snow experience Tashiro would be our recommendation for lessons.
