First Snow Up High

First Snow Up High

It has taken a little longer than usual in coming, but the first snow has fallen up on the slopes of Kagura.

The Snow Japan Yuzawa Now daily report says it was a few centimeters and the picture from the Kagura webcam of the main slope at the top of the Kagura gondola looks like a light dusting.

It is a step in the right direction and it looks as if the temperatures are on the way down. With lower temperatures Kagura can run their snow-making machines to give nature a helping hand.

Kagura have their snow mat at the top of the Mitsumata Gondola open at the moment for any skiers or snowboarders too impatient to wait for the arrival of real snow. We’re more than happy to teach on it if you fancy brushing up on your skills with an early season ski or snowboard lesson with Snow Country Instructors.
