02 Sep GALA Yuzawa Snow Resort Introduction
GALA Yuzawa Snow Resort has its own bullet train station in the base of the resort, making Yuzawa one of the few places that can boast two bullet train stations. It is also connected to Yuzawa Kogen Ski Resort and NASPA Ski Garden by free shuttle buses that run around the town.

Due to the bullet train station GALA is incredibly easy to access. It is a popular choice as a day trip and there are good value packages available that usually include bullet train tickets, lift passes and (possibly) discounts on other resort services. For holders of JR Rail Passes it is also a convenient destination. There is also a rumour that from the 2015/2016 season GALA Yuzawa will be included on the JR Kanto Pass (whereas at the moment it requires the purchase of a 1,000 yen upgrade ticket.)
The bullet train station is in the base building along with the ticket counter and rental shop. From there you catch a gondola up to the lifts and slopes.
GALA Yuzawa is part of the 3 Mountain area so links up with Yuzawa Kogen Ski Resort (by another gondola) and to Ishiuchi Maruyama Ski Resort (by skiing or snowboarding.)
For non-skiers GALA Yuzawa has a sledging area and small kids play area. It also has an onsen spa complex and swimming pool in the base building.
Due to the ease of access it can get busy on weekends or holidays, but free shuttle buses make it easy to get somewhere else if needs be.
If it is too windy at GALA Yuzawa for the gondola to operate (which does happen on the odd occasion) the resort run a free shuttle bus service to other resorts nearby.
