13 Aug Cheap Accommodation Packages in Yuzawa
There are loads of different accommodation options in Yuzawa. If you are looking for good value, and a cheap hotel for your winter trip then the local tourist office might have just the deal for you.
It is called “Suberi-meguri” and you get a choice of different styles of accommdation (hotel/ryokan, or minshuku/lodge) with a lift ticket valid at several local ski resorts. It’s a really good package.
Lift Ticket
The lift ticket is valid at several different resorts: GALA Yuzawa, Ipponsugi, Yuzawa Kogen, Yuzawa Park, Yuzawa Nakazato, NASPA Ski Garden, Kandatsu Kogen, and Iwappara. The ticket you get with each night of accommodation can be used as two half day tickets at different places, either on the same day or different days, or as a full day ticket at one place on the same day. Should you not use one of the half day tickets it can be exchanged for a 1,000 yen shopping voucher for use in the town. There is also the option to pay a little extra to upgrade to the 3 Mountain Pass which changes the ticket above for a day pass for the combined areas of Yuzawa Kogen, GALA Yuzawa, and Ishiuchi.
Ryokan Option
There are several ryokan in Yuzawa that are available for the Suberi-meguri package. Prices change slightly depending on the standard of accommodation and the number of people in each room. The basic price per person is 17,400 yen per adult per night based on two sharing [11,900 yen per child]. This includes dinner and breakfast, plus lift ticket. For the higher level accommodation you would be looking at around 19,600JPY per adult per night for the same package.
Minshuku Option
If you are looking for a more budget option, though still comfortable and homely, there are around 30 minshuku and family run lodges available on the Suberi-meguri package. The basic package is 8,150 yen per adult per night [6,300 yen per child]. This would be for no meals included, but with a lift pass. The other option is for dinner and breakfast included + lift pass which would be 10,150 yen per adult per night [7,800 yen per child.]
There are a few conditions but with so many hotels and lodges to choose from it should be pretty easy to find something that works for you. It is also run by the Yuzawa Tourist Association so you’ll be booking with someone you can trust.
The full list of details and the main pamphlet for this year are still in production but should be out sometime in autumn. If you are planning your winter snow trip for skiing or snowboarding already and are interested in cheap accommodation in Yuzawa we can put you in touch with the people at the tourist office who can help you already. Drop us a line if you have any questions. Here is the pamphlet from last season but we are told it is unlikely to change much for Winter 2016/17.
