30 May Arigatou!
Our six month winter season here in Yuzawa came to an end on Sunday as the last lift at Kagura rolled to a halt. It has been another good season over here and we would like to say a big thank you to everyone that helped us at Snow Country Instructors. Our wonderful customers who came from all over the world, an amazing crew of instructors and coaches, and all the other people at the resorts, rental shops, accommodations, and restaurants who we come into contact with every day.
Yuzawa and Minami Uonuma seem to be gaining in popularity year-on-year as more people discover them. Their ease of access from Tokyo, wide range of ski resorts, and slopes for all levels of experience make it a great ski/snowboard destination, or location for a winter snow vacation. And don’t forget all the great Japanese snow. There seems to be a bit of a buzz in the area at the moment with more hotels, restaurants, and other businesses opening their doors. Long may this last, and hopefully everyone in the region can work together to make things better for everybody.
We have a long, hot summer ahead of us full of festivals, river activities, hiking, mountain biking, Fuji Rock, cultural trips, World Cup Rugby and preparations for winter 2019/2020. If you haven’t visited in summer, it is worth a trip and always interesting for winter visitors to see the mountains in the summer green.
We are also scouring the globe from some more highly qualified coaches to join our team.
If you are planning a trip to Yuzawa, Minami Uonuma, or Snow Country for next winter and need help with anything, please let us know. There is also plenty of information on our blog.
We look forward to seeing you when the snow returns!
