There are some good discounts floating around this year from reduced rate shinkansen fees, travel subsidy campaigns (currently on hold), and also Niigata Prefecture subsidising lift tickets.
The discount lift ticket program is called the Oniwari Campaign and also extends to rental equipment at the resorts. Discount lift tickets and discount rental equipment are a pretty good start to your winter ski vacation in Niigata.

In Yuzawa you can find different offerings for Iwappara, GALA, Kagura, Kandatsu, Naeba, NASPA, Yuzawa Nakazato, Yuzawa Park, Yuzawa Kogen, and Ipponsugi.
The Minami Uonuma listings include Hakkai-san, Maiko, Ishiuchi, Joetsu Kokusai, Itsukamachi. Hakkai Sanroku, Chateau Shiozawa, and Muica.
This is a great opportunity to score a good discount, and also check out some of the other resorts in the region on the cheap.
