Why choose Yuzawa for your winter snow vacation?

Why choose Yuzawa for your winter snow vacation?

Our beautiful home base of Yuzawa is easily accessible by Shinkansen from Tokyo in about an hour and a half, making it one of the simplest places to come to enjoy the snow. Perfect for weekend getaways or even day trips if you are short on time, or longer stays if you are keen to explore the many resorts around the town.

There are plenty of restaurants for food-lovers in Yuzawa with a variety of Japanese and international food options, and accommodations for all budgets, from luxurious ryokan with soothing onsens, all the way through to backpacker dormitories.

This is just a backdrop to our beautiful and plentiful ski resorts in Yuzawa and the surrounding area. There are snow resorts accessible directly in town, walking distance from several hotels and the Shinkansen station, and many others have shuttle services picking guests up from the train station. There is even one resort with its own train station giving our guests seamless access to the mountains.

Whether this is your first time trying winter sports or you have been enjoying the snow for years there is something for everyone here. From beginner lessons to guided off piste days with pristine powder runs, and everything in between. If you are looking for snowplay for the kids resorts like Iwappara and Nakazato have dedicated areas. For intermediates and above hoping to explore a big area, the linked resorts of Kagura, Tashiro, and Naeba have enough slopes to satisfy even the most experienced rider. If learning tricks is more your thing, then Kandatsu and Ishiuchi are well worth a visit. If it is your first time or you are looking for some gentle terrain for the beginners there are wonderful places to take your first ski lesson or snowboard lesson.

If you would like to come ride with us, watch this space for when we are opening bookings for the 24/25 winter season, and should you have any questions we are always happy to provide advice.
